What We Did This Weekend – Part One

We had a great two days in Statesboro with our friends there.  mac n’ cheese traveled really well, and we had  so much fun and edification.

Our first adventure was helping Ruth and Alan Ballard move into their new house:

This is Alan. We are helping him move into his new home.

This is Alan. We are helping him move into his new home.

Alans wife, Ruth, wants this couch . . .

Alan's wife, Ruth, wants this couch . . .

. . . up on the second floor, but the stairs are too narrow.

A plan begins to form.

A plan begins to form.

This was when Ruth was the most nervous.

This was when Ruth was the most nervous.

But it all went very smoothly.

But it all went very smoothly.

And thst was only the first few hours of our visit . . . more fun to come.

    Very clever post! 🙂

Such an impressive maneuver! Moving a couch that way would never occur to me 🙂

My wife has been reading your blog for quite a while, and it has been such a blessing and encouragement to her-especially your posts about your desire and struggle to have children. Thanks to God, we are expecting a little girl this September! We thank God for how He used your testimony (and this blog) to encourage us. I have enjoyed reading your blog as well, and I just had to comment on this post. We were actually on the packing end of this move last Friday! Those pictures are crazy-the idea to slide a couch up to the second floor on a ladder has Alan Ballard’s name written all over it!

    God bless!
